Du Fu's Thatched Cottage

Du Fu's Thatched Cottage is an ideal destination for visiting Du Fu's former residence and experiencing a cultural sanctuary, located at No. 37 Qinghua Road, Qingyang District, Chengdu. In 759 AD, the poet Du Fu fled to Chengdu to escape the Anshi Rebellion, where he built a thatched cottage and composed over 240 immortal poems, including 'The Thatched Hut Broken by Autumn Winds.' Today, the cottage centers around the Shaoling Thatched Pavilion, with its traditional thatched roof exuding rustic elegance, complemented by a lotus pond and bamboo-lined pathways, recreating the poetic dwelling described as 'spring water on both sides of the house.' The Du Fu Thatched Cottage Museum houses rare editions of Du's poetry and calligraphy paintings, making it a pilgrimage site for literature enthusiasts.
