Sujiao Ancient Town

Sujiao Ancient Town is about 12 kilometers from the center of Leshan City, a thousand-year-old riverside town originally established during the Sui Dynasty and flourishing in the Ming and Qing dynasties, renowned as the 'Hometown of Dragon Lanterns and the Food Town.' Nestled along the Emei River, the town features Rugu Bridge, Tianwang Temple, a century-old dock, and traditional overhanging wooden houses lining the riverbank, preserving the authentic urban texture of southern Sichuan’s market towns. Sujiao is the birthplace of Leshan's famous Qiao Jiao Beef, with street snacks such as rice flower candy, sweet skin duck, and tofu pudding scattered throughout. The Qiao Jiao Beef Street fills the air with irresistible aromas, making it an ideal destination for exploring ancient towns and savoring local delicacies, as well as a convenient transit point connecting Leshan Giant Buddha and Mount Emei.
