Bifengxia Scenic Area

The forest coverage rate of Bifengxia reaches over 95%, named for its lush trees and evergreen scenery throughout the year. The scenic area consists of three core attractions: Eco-Canyon Scenic Zone, Wild Animal World, and the Ya'an Bifengxia Base of the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center. The canyon stretches about 10 kilometers long, with towering cliffs on both sides and a gentle stream flowing through. Scenic spots such as Qian Ceng Yan Waterfall, Nuwa Pool, and Swan Waterfall are captivating. The Wild Animal World is the first ecological wildlife park in Southwest China, housing more than 300 species and over 11,000 animals. The Ya'an Bifengxia Base of the China Giant Panda Protection Research Center was established in 2003 and is one of the largest captive giant panda breeding centers globally, currently home to over 60 pandas, including exhibition areas such as Bai Xiong Ping, Panda Kindergarten, and Hai Gui Garden. It is also the world's largest habitat for returned overseas giant pandas and an important training base for wild release programs.
