Mount Mengding

Mount Mengding is one of the birthplaces of global tea culture. Since the Western Han Dynasty, when Wu Lizhen planted seven tea trees here, Mount Mengding has been closely linked with tea for over two millennia, earning the renowned reputation of 'the water from the heart of the Yangtze River, tea from the summit of Mount Mengding.' Surrounded by mountains and shrouded in mist and clouds, ancient sites such as the Imperial Tea Garden, Ganlu Rock Chamber, and Mengquan Temple are scattered throughout. The thousand-year-old ginkgo trees complement the tea plantations beautifully. Climbing to Tian'gai Temple offers a panoramic view of the vast tea fields, making spring tea-picking and tea-making experiences especially popular. This is an ideal destination for enjoying fine tea, discussing philosophy, experiencing the unity of tea and Zen, and relaxing for health and wellness.
